Drama Movement
Workshop
2 to 4 week Residency
Rhonda Cates actively engages the students in the creative process of the performing arts of dance and drama. Students are shown the importance of metaphors and the physical processes that convey abstract ideas. The end result might be poetry or monologue readings with dramatic sculpture.
An After School Musical Theater
Program
12 week residency once or twice a week 1 to 3 hours a day. Children are required to audition to begin rehearsal for a formal presentation of a chosen show. All aspects of musical theater are introduced such as discipline, dedication, working as a team, taking direction, stagecraft, lighting, scenery, costumes, hair, and make-up. The children will practice dance routines, singing solos, duets, and chorus numbers while working with two professional artists and live music.
Lecture Demonstration
A visiting performance artist demonstrates their craft and explains the details of their profession.
